The Barra da Tijuca, popularly known as Barra is the youngest neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. Until the decade of 70 was a sparsely populated neighborhood, today, nearly 40 years later, the region has become the most complete neighborhood of the city.
The neighborhood is known for a variety of entertainment, cuisine and culture. Besides having the longest beach in Rio de Janeiro, with 18 km of sea and white sand.
For an afternoon of shopping, the neighborhood is home to, among other options, the famous Barra Shopping, one of the largest in Latin America, with over 700 stores.
On the verge of Barra da Tijuca lagoon, the Village Mall is the choice for those who love luxury, sophistication and cuisine. The mall has stores of famous brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Hugo Boss, Burberry, Tiffany & Co. , Prada, Emporio Armani and Carolina Herrera.
